Movember, global men’s health charity, has been named as the Official Mental Fitness Partner of the World Boxing Championships 2025, in Liverpool (4-14 September 2025).

The agreement will see Movember link-up with two of the events main stakeholders, England Boxing and GB Boxing, to deliver mental fitness and resilience education to over 2,700 young people, parents, and coaches through the Movember Ahead of the Game programme.

Movember is leading the way in changing the face of men’s mental health in the UK and around the globe and as the Official Mental Fitness Partner of the World Boxing Championships 2025, it aims to spotlight the importance of building resilience in and out of the ring.

The Movember Ahead of the Game programme equips young athletes, their parents, and coaches with tools to talk about mental health, seek help, and overcome life’s challenges.

With half of all mental health conditions developing by age 14, according to NHS England, early support is crucial. That’s where boxing plays a key role. As a sport that builds discipline, courage and self-belief, it’s also a powerful platform to promote mental fitness.

More than 30,000 participants across the UK have already engaged with the programme. Now, with the support of England Boxing, it will reach even more clubs and communities.

“Looking after your mental health is essential in boxing, yet the spotlight is often on developing physical strengths,” says Louise Vidor, Club and Community Manager, England Boxing. “This partnership is about equipping young boxers with the mental strength to take on challenges both in and out of the ring.”

“By teaming up with the Championships and establishing a link with England Boxing, we are creating a culture where it’s okay to talk about mental health, and where resilience is built through connection, courage, and support” adds Tracy Herd, Director of Men’s Health, Movember.

As part of the partnership, Movember will also link-up with boxers in the GB Boxing Olympic squad, who will support some of its initiatives and activities.

GB Boxing’s Performance Director, Rob McCracken, said: “It is well-known that boxing and boxing fitness can have a really positive impact on mental health and wellbeing for people everywhere.  At the same time, it is also important for elite athletes, like the boxers in our squad, to look after their personal mental health in the same way they take care of their physical health, so this is a partnership that we are very happy to support and get our boxers involved in.”

Movember continues to invest in research, education, and real-world programmes that break down stigma and support better mental health for future generations.
